Our Materials
Every piece starts with a material choice. Here's exactly what goes into your products and why.
Materials Overview
We choose our materials deliberately — for durability, precision, aesthetics, and longevity. Every material in a WTC product is selected because it's the best option for that specific application, not because it's the cheapest.
Our products span multiple material categories: laser-cut steel for our spoiler shelves, crystal-clear acrylic for deconstructed watch art, tempered glass for furniture surfaces, stainless steel for structural components and lighting, and premium PLA+ for compact display pieces.
No compromises. If a material doesn't meet our standards for strength, finish quality, and longevity, we don't use it. Every piece is built to last years — not months.
Steel & Metals
Used in our OG Spoiler Shelves and larger furniture pieces. Galvanised iron steel is precision laser-cut for clean, sharp edges and exact silhouettes. It offers exceptional structural strength while maintaining a slim, refined profile. Each piece is cut to tolerances within fractions of a millimetre.
All steel components receive a durable matte powder-coat finish. This process is solvent-free, produces a uniform colour, and creates a surface that's resistant to scratches, chips, and fading. The result is a clean, modern aesthetic that holds up over years of use.
Used in our Apex Form Lamps and coffee table legs. Precision-cut stainless steel provides clean lines, corrosion resistance, and a refined industrial aesthetic. Brushed finishes add subtle texture while maintaining a premium feel.
Acrylic & Resin
The backbone of our Deconstructed Watch Art collection. We use premium, optically clear acrylic layers — each one precision-cut and polished to create a multi-layered 3D effect that reveals the intricate details of deconstructed timepieces. Up to ten transparent layers are stacked to create genuine depth and dimension.
Select pieces use matte-finished acrylic bases and frames. This provides a softer, more contemporary look that reduces glare and fingerprints while maintaining the material's structural integrity and clarity.
Used in our ApexGrid Spoiler Shelves and compact display pieces. PLA+ is a lightweight, high-strength material engineered for durability. Combined with hand-applied vinyl detailing, it allows us to create intricate racing livery designs that would be impossible with traditional materials.
Glass & Surfaces
Used as the surface for our Ducktail Coffee Table and display furniture. Tempered glass is 4–5 times stronger than standard glass. It's heat-resistant, scratch-resistant, and in the rare event of breakage, it shatters into small, rounded pieces rather than sharp shards. Crystal-clear with no green tint.
Hand-applied vinyl detailing is used across our racing livery pieces. We use fade-resistant, UV-stable vinyl that maintains crisp, vivid graphics for years. Every decal is applied by hand for precise placement and a factory-authentic look.
Why We Chose These
Every material decision comes down to three questions: Will it last? Does it look right? Is it the best option for this specific product?
We don't use MDF, particleboard, or cheap composites in any of our products. We don't cut corners on finishes or coatings. And we don't use materials that degrade, yellow, or warp over time.
Our products are designed to be displayed proudly in your home for years. The materials we choose reflect that commitment — they're the same materials you'd find in premium automotive components, architectural installations, and professional display manufacturing.
Built like the machines that inspire them. When you invest in a WTC piece, you're getting materials and construction quality that matches the engineering heritage our designs celebrate.
